What can I tell you about Helmsley Community Primary School? The honest answer is … lots of things!
Our school is home to children of all shapes and sizes, their teachers (all shapes and sizes too!) teaching assistants, support staff and … Bob the Bear, our school mascot. Bob has a wonderful life as he gets to join in when our children go exploring the world on educational visits and he gets to cheer our school teams in all sorts of events.
Learning can and should be fun. We seek to provide a broad, balanced and creative curriculum, introducing the children to a wide range of opportunities and experiences. Our curriculum is therefore enhanced by a range of after school and lunchtime clubs such as football, netball, benchball, chess, drama, board games, cycling proficiency and juggling! We are well supported by parents who voluntarily run clubs in French conversation, Latin, table tennis and ordinary tennis.
We are a learning community and we seek to be inclusive, striving for excellence regardless of ability, special need, gender, race or creed. We seek to open windows on the world, not to close doors.
So, what can I say, other than I am immensely proud of the children, staff and governors and of all they have achieved. As for the future, who knows what we can achieve working together.
